statement of aims

Statement of aims. 


In my work I will be focusing on music marketing for a new upcoming music group with the very known label Roc nation. 


When I begin to create my music video, the inclusion of the duo entering a house party accompanied by a wide shot will be at the beginning. This would connote with the “Funky House” undertone in the song in which is sampled by Crazy Cousinz and  Kyla Reids - “Do you mind”. Funky house music has a strong bassline with soul inspired vocals which goes in hand with some sort of love narrative. The theme of the video would be of the duo finding their love interest  and following them as they progress in their relationship; high angle shots would be used in the beginning to show the vulnerability and the low angle towards the end to show the switch in confidence and growth within the relationship.Mid shots and close ups would be used when the artists are performing and cut in for literal references for example when the artists says, “got the hennessy in my hands” , the camera will switch to a the artist hold the bottle. My artists attire for this video will be comfortable highstreet and/or designer wear which is popular among the ages of 18-35 so in a sense will feel familiar when they are viewing the music video. As described before the video will have a love narrative so there will be intimate scenes as the artists pursue their love interests accompanied by slow transitions whilst editing to complement the  slow and chilled vibe of the song.  


The magazine I will be making is called “ vibin’ ”, I chose this name for its literal meaning ; people vibe to music. It would contain  many variations of hot topics such as fashion and latest trends as they tie in with the music/entertainment industry. The cover will have a modern look so it can still be suitable for the target audience which is 18-35 however will be marketed for early teens onward.The cost of the magazine will be £2.50 so that people of all backgrounds are accessible to buying the magazine meaning that we generate more money and gain more publicity. 


Furthermore a double page spread will be produced based on the artist im using and will be titled “ What Now?”, it will talk about working hard to get noticed but once people notice you …...what happens now? The artist the will explain the struggle of trying to make it , the reality of fame and then how remain humble and private whilst being in the public eye.At the end of the article a inspiration quote hoping to encourage people of all ages that life is what you make it so go for your dream whilst you can. 


In Conclusion this statement of aims is what I would be referring to so my practical work is as good as it could possibly be. I am to capture the many themes of the song in both the music video and the magazine without overdoing it.
